Rise & Grind

Good morning fellow bloggers! So, I’ve made it my goal the past few weeks to go to the gym BEFORE work a couple days a week, (or as many times as I can fight the urge to turn off my alarm and roll back over for that extra hour of sleep) - and it has been great! That hour of uninterrupted, peaceful, alone time is SO necessary and SO beneficial. The hour before my family wakes up. The hour that starts my day where no one needs me, no one calls me, no one texts me (usually), no paperwork, no errands, no bills, no boss, nothing to distract, no hard decisions, nothing to do except whatever I feel like doing – whether it’s 15 minutes of cardio or a full hour. Upper body weights or lower body. Abs or no abs? To tan and take that 15 minute post work out NAP… or not? Whatever I want! An hour of ME time before my world awakes. Before making that breakfast bottle and changing diapers. Before packing lunches and diaper bags. It is empowering, healthy, strengthening, rejuvenating. It is such a great feeling to get it done and over with and know that before I’ve even had my first cup of coffee, my work out for the day is complete. Not to mention, few things feel better than taking a nice hot shower right after a hard work out – to rinse off all the sweat and relax your hard working muscles. To start the day off RIGHT. Enjoy your mornings everyone, soon the sun will be up before we know it and we will be able to run (or walk) outdoors instead of on a treadmill. Spring is coming – get that beach body ready!!
